Conga Design: Packaging Design Photos by Houston Brand Photographer Lightbulb League

As a branding photography team, we love bringing creative visions to life, especially when it’s with another creative. So many of our clients feel like we’re working on a collaboration and it’s so fulfilling.

Last year, we had the pleasure of working with Kat, a talented graphic designer who crafted a stunning array of branding and paper goods for a local boutique. Our studio became the backdrop where these beautifully designed items were brought to life, capturing the essence of the boutique’s brand and Kat’s creativity. Feel free to scroll down to see our faves, and read about our time with Kat.

When Kat arrived at our studio, she brought a variety of meticulously designed items: gift bags, tissue papers, napkins, business cards, ribbons, and stationery. Each piece reflected her attention to detail and deep understanding of the boutique’s brand identity. The color palette, intricate patterns, and elegant typography all showcased the boutique’s sophisticated yet welcoming vibe.

Our first step was to understand the brand’s story and the vibe Kat had created. We wanted our photographs to showcase the products and evoke the feelings associated with the boutique. We arranged the gift bags and tissue papers to highlight their textures and colors. The bags, with their luxurious feel and elegant designs, were paired with matching tissue papers, creating a cohesive and inviting look.

For the napkins and stationery, we opted for a more minimalist approach. We laid them out on a simple, rustic wooden table, letting the intricate designs stand out. The business cards and ribbons were styled to emphasize their elegance and functionality. We created flat lays showcasing the business cards’ typography and the ribbons’ texture, ensuring each element was captured beautifully.

With everything in place, it was time to start shooting. We used natural lighting to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, enhancing the colors and textures of the paper goods. Each shot was carefully composed to highlight the unique features of the items, from the delicate patterns on the napkins to the luxurious feel of the ribbons.

We experimented with different angles and perspectives, ensuring we captured a variety of shots Kat could use for different purposes. Close-up shots highlighted the intricate details, while wider shots provided an overall view of the products, creating a comprehensive visual story.

The final photographs perfectly captured the essence of the boutique and Kat’s incredible design work. The images showcased the beauty of the paper goods and conveyed the brand’s story, making them a valuable asset for both Kat and the boutique.

Conclusion: A Collaborative Success

This project was a fantastic collaboration that demonstrated the power of combining graphic design with professional branding photography. By working together, we created a visual narrative that resonated with the boutique’s target audience, enhancing its brand identity and making a lasting impression. It was a true pleasure to bring Kat’s vision to life and to play a part in telling the boutique’s story through our photographs.
