2024 Faves: End of Year Review

As ever, we cannot believe it’s the end of the year. Time really does fly when you’re having fun, and we have some amazing clients to thank for that. We wanted to show off some of our favorite shots from our many sessions this year, along with recounting some of our highlights from the year.

Starting in January 2024, we hit the ground running after a wild second half of 2023. May- December 2023 was filled with back surgeries and irregular session schedules, so now that we had a full studio to make our own and subscription client photoshoots to maintain, we were excited to get to work.

We made the studio our own by building a changing room for clients whose exterior walls doubled as portrait backdrops. We also added a large wall of shelves to house our styling props and other set dressing accessories. Our two chalkboards were adorned with chalk art fro our friend Rachel at Studio Half Moon.

In May we did an interview with Voyage Houston to chat about our beginnings and our challenges.

We officially added a la carte iPhone Video Coverage to our services. Not only are we offering sessions that include photography + iPhone video, but we’ve had several bookings of a la carte iPhone video coverage for clients, just in the few months that we’ve offered it.

In September we encountered an unexpected opportunity that we couldn’t refuse. We were offered the option to move into another room in the building our studio was in. This new room was identical in size and layout, but offered more natural lighting options that would allow us to better serve our clients’ needs. We embraced the change and went for it, having our new studio available to us starting October 2024.

As I write this in late November 2024, we’re settling into our new studio space nicely after a few sessions. We’re largely done with work for the year, as we take December off from sessions to focus on family, holidays, and rest, while sprinkling in admin work and emails here and there. We work hard and are so lucky to have clients who appreciate us for our craft and expertise. We absolutely can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for Lightbulb League.
