Our 2025 Goals as a Houston Photography Studio
An important part of growth is setting realistic goals within our control and checking in with ourselves along the way; what’s our progress looking like, and what can we do to stay on the right path towards reaching our goals?
As a creative small business owner, it gets way too easy to get swept up in the daily maintenance of our business with tasks like client communication, brand photo session planning, studio maintenance, photo editing, and more. Creating new goals is hard work, and I wanted to create this list as a way to share what Lightbulb League’s goals are for 2025, as well as to keep myself held accountable! Without further ado, our 2025 goals:
Collaborate More with Creative Friends
This is something that can be so low pressure, soul-filling, low-cost, and inspiring; not to mention so needed every few months as the daily grind wears you down. It can be as simple as combining talents to create art together. Something I’m really interested in doing this year is adding more stock photos to our free stock photo library once per quarter, and I could see creative collaboration with friends playing into that somehow. A true win/win for everyone involved.
Invest in a Simple Studio Lighting Kit
While the bulk of our work is shot using natural light, sometimes you just need artificial light! We have artificial lighting for when we need it, but the flashes I have aren’t ideal for studio usage.. They’re great for on-location sessions, but I want something a little more hefty for the studio.
Invest in New Brand Photos for Lightbulb League
It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been in front of the camera, so it’s time to dust off our in-front-of-the-camera boots and get some photos taken. As any business owner can attest to, they’re an asset; you need them to connect and build trust with your online audience.
Address Studio Storage Space Needs
New studio = new storage. We need a shelving system for all of the styling pieces that we have, which we regularly use for client sessions in the studio. I’m a big fan of buying secondhand, so that’s likely what I’ll keep a passive eye out for as the year goes on.
I’ll be sure to check back on this post each month so see how our progress is coming along, and will be sure to update it at the end of 2025 to see how we did!
