Blush Floral Co Brand Photo Session
There are some sessions that just feel easy in the best way; where everything clicks seamlessly into place and the creative energy flows. You leave knowing you captured something really special and creatively collaborative. That was the case with this shoot for Blush Floral Co.
Maxine, the founder and owner, and Michelle, her right-hand woman, wanted a brand session that felt candid in appearance but still intentional. Something that showed them doing what they do best; conversing, brainstorming, and building beautiful things together whether it be a timeline of a wedding day for their floral team or copious amounts of wedding day centerpieces. We set up a cozy office-inspired space in the Lightbulb League studio to give the feeling of an actual workday — laptops out, coffee in hand, surrounded by flowers, paper goods, and a healthy dose of creative chaos.
One of my favorite parts of this session was photographing them mid-creative process — building out a mood board from swatches, textures, print materials, and reference images. The kind of planning work that usually happens behind the scenes but really deserves its own spotlight. After all, their aim was to showcase, through new brand imagery, what their service-based brand does behind the scenes.
Two fun facts:
This session marked a tiny first for me. For the first time in my 15 years as a photographer, I shot in front of a backdrop I painted myself. It was not a regular occurrence at the time of their session, but the colors felt so perfectly on brand for Blush Floral Co that we rolled with it — and I’m so glad we did. You’ll spot it in the photos below, and in future sessions to come for those who choose to use it.
Both ladies chatted about a general color palette to wear, but never chatted specifics. They both showed up in essentially the same outfit. And THAT’S how you know you’re working on the same wavelength as your teammates!
Working with teams like Maxine and Michelle’s — who trust the process, show up fully, and aren’t afraid to lean into their vision — is such a privilege. Scroll through to see how we brought their brand story to life in a way that feels true to them.
