Alright friends. An organic change that I’ve seen and felt in my work lately has been the inevitable shift towards food. Insert laughing emoji, because we all saw this coming, right? Food. We all eat it at least 3 times a day so we’re around it anyways, but when those gifted individuals come into your life who are GOOD at making food, you hold on and don’t let go! That is The Hurried Hostess for me. Without further ado, here is Stacy’s onion tart recipe shoot.
Caramelized onion, goat cheese, and thyme tart on Puff Pastry: a recipe shoot
We got together so I could photograph Stacy making two different recipes with puff pastry dough, one of which I will blogged separately. This one is puff pastry, goat cheese, caramelized onions, and fresh thyme. Before starting to create that, we began the day by snacking on fresh baked bread and Stacy’s special bread dipping olive oil recipe which has absolutely nothing to do with this post, but it was delicious and pretty so here’s a photo of it because I can’t help myself.
Now it was tart time! After spreading the goat cheese on the puff pastry, Stacy put caramelized onions on top of that. Side note: I thought it was some industry secret or something, but I saw it in her recipe post for the tart so I’m going to go ahead and share: she adds a touch of brown sugar to the onions when they’re nearly done caramelizing. Maybe I’m the last one to the game with this one, but I thought it’s genius! The sweet really balances the other flavors in the tart so well.
After the onions, she sprinkled with fresh thyme and baked it. She added a bit more goat cheese once it was done baking and voila. It was so. dang. delicious.
